A Visit to the School Library to encourage Reading DPS, Nashik teachers took the onus of upgrading the reading skills of their students with a visit to the School Library. Grade VII to IX were made to understand the library resources and Subject Enrichment Programme. The librarian, Samruddha Ma’am explained how to make the proper use of reference books. Rita Ma'am provided our budding readers with many insights into the authors' lives and their books. The most important thing which the students learned was ways in which they could utilize the mountain of information in the library, not only for a specific purpose but also for research and to select appropriate books on certain topics. This activity also helped to cultivate the reading habit in students. #DPSNashik #FunLearning #SchoolActivity #Library #2018 #readingskills #reading

2nd October, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is celebrated with great enthusiasm in India as well as Internationally. 2nd of October was declared as an International Day of Non-Violence by the United Nations General Assembly on 15th of June 2007. At Delhi Public School, Nashik ‘Mahatma Gandhi Centre for Value Learning’ was inaugurated on Monday, 1st October 2018 by the Gram Panchayat members of Manori village. These days the value systems are degenerating, thereby this great initiative was captured and put to reality by the School’s Principal Dr. Pushpy Dutt to develop a centre for value learning wherein the students will imbibe the core values of Character building, Progressive thinking, Respect, Responsibility, Perseverance, Ambition, Confidence, Integrity and Determination. Children will also learn the art of spinning Charkha for concentration, inner peace and embracing Khadi as an honor and pride of each Indian. On this Gandhi Jayanti students of Grade 10 of Delhi Public School, Nashik donated books, played group games and spread the awareness of cleanliness amongst the students of Zilla Parishad School Manori and Talegaon. On this occasion we hope to spread the message of peace, truth and non violence across the globe.

A cube was introduced and described in detail. A short discussion on the topic of games where ‘Dice is used was brought up before the students. Students responded very well as it is their favourite game for eg ‘Snakes and ladder, Ludo etc. Students were instructed to remember the numbers/dots on the dice with which they play the game and mark the same with the help of a pencil. Later they were told to dip the end of the earbud into the paint and print on the number of dots marked with the pencil. Students were demonstrated with the ‘Dice making activity first by the teacher and then they were instructed to follow the same. Children were found to be greatly engrossed in doing this activity. This was a take away activity. So, they carried it home very happily.
